At urbn magazine, we believe being African should feel like freedom not a box.

We started this magazine to help us and other Africans feel at home in their Africanness, not boxed by it. Not forced to fit into traditions that don’t feel like us. Not defined by the Western eyes either.

Here, Africanness is freedom; it’s fluid, it’s the space between what you love and what you choose to leave behind.

Our goal is to create a space where Africans can feel authentic, comfortable, and at peace in who they are without needing to prove or perform Africanness to anyone.

Every story is an invitation to breathe, to belong, and to see yourself reflected. You don’t have to hide who you are to feel African.
